PARC, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities to exercise their independence and experience life to the fullest, announces ticket sales and culinary experiences for their second annual Top Chefs event presented by The Birchwood, taking place on Saturday, July 16 in The Grand Ballroom of The Birchwood on Beach Drive in downtown St. Petersburg.
Spotlighting local top restaurants, PARC’s Top Chefs offers guests tastings prepared by some of the best chefs in the Bay Area paired with a student who participates in the Culinary Arts Teaching Kitchen @ PARC. The Teaching Kitchen is the program benefiting from this engaging and unique event, and is a teaching facility that trains, certifies, and prepares students with intellectual and developmental disabilities for competitive job placement in the area’s thriving culinary and hospitality industries.
Restaurants scheduled to attend include The Birchwood – Birch and Vine, Café Ponte, Guppy’s, Eddie V’s, Tryst, Snappers and Rococo Steak. Jenn Holloway, from WFLA News Channel 8, will serve as the emcee for the event. Spirits will be provided by Breakthru Beverage Group and dessert from LeAnn’s Cheesecakes. Local celebrity guests will also participate as honorary “wait staff” that evening.

“We are so thrilled to be partnering with the incredible restaurants this year,” said Karen Higgins, PARC’s president and CEO. “Thanks to their support and the chefs donating their time and talents to PARC, all proceeds raised go directly to the Culinary Arts Teaching Kitchen to help those we serve at PARC learn culinary skills for the workforce.”
Established in 1953, PARC currently serves more than 800 individuals in the greater Tampa Bay area. For more information about the event or to buy tickets, call Annie Woods at 727-341-6962, email events@parc-fl.org or visit www.parc-fl.org.
